Business Advisory Harmony Plans

HARP CPA

At Rachelle Harp CPA, PLLC, we focus our expertise on assisting small-scale enterprises, typically those with fewer than 100 employees. Why this emphasis? Our primary goal is to assist individuals and, importantly, to directly support business owners. And to be candid, as a business reaches a certain magnitude, layers of management often hinder direct owner involvement. Access to the owners enables us to ensure they are optimizing their business's potential for themselves and their families. Given our proficiency in small business matters, we've curated business advisory service plans that encompass these exceptionally innovative components.

Accounting Extras

HARP CPA

While we've covered the fundamentals of accounting services, there are numerous tangential aspects and complexities within accounting. Let's delve into some of the most prevalent ones:

Advisory Services Fine Print

Customized Pricing

Our A la Carte fee ranges are approximations. While 85% of our clients fall within these ranges, outliers exist. For instance, clients with over 30 rentals may see individual tax return fees exceeding $4,000. Additionally, if your business operates across multiple states or jurisdictions, extra fees will be discussed beforehand for payroll setup or tax preparation. State tax preparation typically incurs costs ranging from $250 to $350 per state, with state apportionment complexities, notably in California and New York, adding intricacies.

Prorated Fees

Further aspects to consider: When joining us mid-year, our annual fee is prorated, omitting charges for unused services such as payroll and consultation. However, a substantial portion of our annual fee pertains to tax preparation, which remains fixed at $2,300 (covering both business entity and individual tax returns) along with annual tax planning. Regardless of onboarding timing—be it January, July, or December—a full-year tax return is necessary, adjusting the monthly fee for the remainder of 2023. Come January 2024, the monthly fee will reflect the aforementioned amounts.

Payroll Processing

Our profit margins from payroll processing are marginal; it's a service we offer mainly for client convenience. While having a single point of contact may seem reassuring, if you prefer managing your payroll, feel free! Handling payroll involves intricacies beyond the surface; we often rectify errors, especially in managing health insurance and HSA contributions, particularly concerning greater than 2% S Corp shareholders.

Tax Returns

Although you're free to prepare your individual tax return, the advantage of Rachelle Harp CPA, PLLC managing both individual and business tax returns lies in our ability to strategize around income limitations, phaseouts, AMT, Section 199A deductions, PTET, and more. Having a holistic view of both returns can lead to substantial tax savings!
Note: The term "individual tax return" refers to IRS Form 1040, pertaining to the entity filing the tax return. Married couples filing jointly are treated as a single entity for tax return purposes. So, when we mention preparing your individual tax return, it includes your spouse in a jointly filed return.

Break-Even Analysis (Is an S Corp Beneficial?)

Our break-even analysis is founded on our annual fee of $4,320. If an S corporation yields 8% to 10% tax savings over a conventional LLC, then $4,320 divided by 9% equals $48,000 of net ordinary business income after expenses and deductions.

Additional Sales Pitch! It's worth noting that our $4,320 fee encompasses your individual tax return, which you might otherwise pay another tax professional to prepare. Some clients near the break-even point of $48,000 leverage an S Corp and our services for tax preparation, planning, and consultation.
